Metronome App Reviews

Great App

This is the best metronome so far!!!! Sounds great and does what its suppose to and at half the price of the other apps. Keep up the good work.

Just Okay, Would have liked to seen the tap tempo included now

It would be nice to have a visual click as well, so that you can use the metronome feature without sound. Time Signature options nice, though.

Wont replace a stand-alone click.

This app has the best interface of all the metronomes Ive tried (had to blow a few bucks). However, none of them appear to be very steady, especially when you get into 16th notes.....not sure why this would be. Like another reviewer mentioned-when the phone screen goes black, it just goes haywire. This app is fine if youre just going to use it to reference tempos. But you would never be able to use it in a playing situation. Ill be sticking with my Tama Rhythm Watch.

Worth the price, but dont be fooled...

The metronome functionality is great, but with the 16th subdivisions activated, the tempo appears to drag noticeably. The "tuner" component is misleading. Unlike an actual tuner that hears a tone and determines its pitch, this element of Metronome is more like a pitch pipe for singers that plays a certain pitch.

Cool app but need to be able to store tempos

When I have a gig i would like to be able to store 10 to 20 tempos. Also I would like to be able to scroll or jump to any of the tempos. That would help for practice. Heck lets get really crazy, what about the ability to store song names and tempos! Then I can just pick the songs and make my set list. That could be called "Set List". As a drummer that would be perfect. Just send me the royalties for thinking of it!

great job

i was stopping by to request something on the app, but i see youre working on it...saved presets. i assume that by that you mean saved tempos for different songs and possible the different pattern you might want with it. anyway, thanks for a great app, its been a big help. keep up the good work. ill give it 5 stars when i can save tempos LOL

Could be better

I really enjoy this App. I would like to be able to see the met going back and forth. And for every1 saying there is no external sound u guys are retarted. U have the ringer button off. Yes the updated version does have a tap tempo feature. Cant wait to be able. To store tempos and custom rythms. Very good. As good as it gets on the iPhone

One of the better metronomes, but lacks critical features....

This is a well-thought-out app, and I appreciate its uncluttered design. I commend the developer for adding tap-tempo in v1.1, however, Im disappointed that tempi are rounded to the nearest whole number. I often have to tempo-match preexisting material, and rounded tempi are too imprecise. So Id love an option (via a settings button, perhaps) for tempi to be calculated to two decimal points (e.g., 95.37 BPM). For those who dont need or want that, decimals would never have to be seen. I also wish there were optional click sounds (such as a Urei-type click). The current sound is shrill and difficult to use at length. For other uses, I love the inclusion of buttons for adjusting the tempo, instead of just a slider. But Id love to be able to tap and hold a button for continuous adjustment until released. Finally, I love the feature called "tuner" -- except its not a tuner! its an electronic pitch pipe. :-) A tuner "listens" to a note and lets the user know, graphically, whether the note is in tune or not, allowing him or her to adjust the instrument. This app plays audible pitches -- which is very useful! But I was unaware that it does so, because the word "tuner" is misleading.

No internal speaker output

I was really disapponted that this app does not support internal speaker output. It is not useful to have to interrupt my practice routine to put in my headphones. Easily a five star app if internal speaker output was added. Im looking forward to an update that allows for internal speaker output. Please note: I am using the iPod touch, not the iPhone.

Good, but it needs work.

I bought this for my touch in the hope that I could have a portable metronome for when I forgot my regular one. I was dissapointed to find that the metronome did not support headphone use. Although the tuner does, I think the metronome was made for speakers on the iPhone. The tuner is nice and works on headphones though. This is a nice app and I like the tap the beat, it is easily a five star if the metronome just supported headphone jack use

The closets to the Dr. Beat yet

Very nice almost the perfect metronome.

Not so great with the iPod touch

Does not support headphones for metronome only the tuner does. Otherwise an ok app, if it had support for headphones it would be a five star app!

Uneven beats = bad metronome

Im giving two stars for the idea. Execution lacks, however. The beats are uneven on a consistant basis. Im not sure if its a problem with how it works on the iPhone or the program itself. Either way a metronome NEEDS to be even and consistant. Otherwise its useless. If steady beats are important to you, save your money. Less important gripes: Too quiet! Too difficult to dial in an exact tempo. An option for keypad entry would be nice.

Good for reference tempo only

Doesnt keep a steady beat, particularly when the screen goes on auto-lock (blank screen). I tried turning auto-lock off when I was using the metronome but the metronome still skips beats. Good for a reference tempo but pretty much useless if you want to practice with this application. Theres nothing more frustrating than being in the middle of a phrase and having to stop because the metronome cant keep time! Hopefully the developer can fix this bug.

not loud enough

Not loud enough=not so good for drummers :/

Good

This metronome is very good. It is very accurate. It would be nice if it were a lot louder. A volume control would be nice also. They could make use of the touch screen by making the "Start/Stop" Button say "Start" when its off and "Stop" when its on like apple does in the stopwatch app.

Louder!

How hard can it be to add a volume slider. This app is useless to drummers. Turn it up!

Much improved after update

In an earlier review I noted that the beat was irregular. Its been upgraded since then, and now its solid and useful. It matched my "real" metronome beat for beat.

Unfrtunately.....

i hate to be the guy that ways this but it suckz does not work at all on iPod Touch would have been nice if it did though

Not good

Does not work on iPhone at all.
